This is how we do pure, green, and clean beauty at BIOEFFECT. When we talk about purity in skincare, we mean it on several levels: from our clean formulations with only few ingredients and geologically filtered Icelandic water, to our high-tech ecologically-engineered greenhouse in Iceland powered by sustainable geothermal energy.
Pure Beauty - Icelandic Water.
Our product range features pure water – one of Iceland’s most abundant resources – that is geologically filtered through layers of volcanic lava for maximum purity and softness.
Water is one of Iceland's purest and most abundant natural resources. Over time, Icelandic water is geologically filtered through layers of inert volcanic lava. This natural purification process delivers clean water; unpolluted, unspoiled, and in no need for any chemical purification. Icelandic water is soft, meaning it has a low concentration of hard minerals such as calcium and magnesium – making it less likely to dry or irritate skin. This is the water we use to water the barley plants at our hydroponic greenhouse, and as an ingredient in our products to ensure the purest formulation.
Green Beauty - Plant-Based.
Our scientists developed a method to bioengineer the barley plant to produce plant-based growth factors. One of these growth factors is EGF (Epidermal Growth Factor), BIOEFFECT's signature skincare ingredient. Our growth factors are produced in barley that is grown in our geothermal powered greenhouse in Iceland.

Clean Beauty - Few Ingredients.
We use as few as 7 to 23 clean, natural ingredients, and only those that our skin can truly understand. This means BIOEFFECT products are nontoxic, safe, and suitable for all skin types.
Recycle / Reuse.
We are dedicated to finding more recycled, recyclable, and sustainably sourced materials. Most of the main components of our primary packaging and all our secondary packaging are recyclable.
0% Alcohol – Fragrance – Silicone.
We want our products to be suitable for all skin types – even very sensitive. BIOEFFECT products are alcohol-free, fragrance-free, paraben-free, phthalate-free, mineral oil-free, and petrolatum-free.

Bioeffect operates a certified quality management system (ISO 9001:2015) and complies with the Cosmetic Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines. These guidelines aid in maintaining consistent and controlled production, ensuring a high product quality.
